Meet Teacher Makayla!

Hi! I’m Makayla, but the kids call me Miss Kayla. I’ve been working with children since 2021, when I began my career teaching first grade. A year later, I transitioned into early learning, where I gained valuable experience with children ages 0–4. After the birth of my first baby, I took a couple of years off from teaching; now, two babies later, I am thrilled to be back in childcare as of September 2025!

My heart and passion lie in loving children the way they need to be loved, seeing them the way they need to be seen, and allowing them to be themselves as they grow and learn. Apart from being a teacher and a full-time mom, I am also a writer currently working on my seventh novel! When I’m not playing with kiddos or writing, I enjoy reading, sewing, collecting all types of trinkets, and savoring the little things in life.
